Making Straight Through and Crossover cables for LAN

Required tools:
1- LAN Cable
2- RJ-45 Connectors popularly known as crimps.
3- Crimping Tool

1_ MAKING STRAIGHT THROUGH CABLE:

Here are the steps:

(1) Remove cable insulation i.e. outer jacket of LAN cable.

(2) You’ll get 4 set of twisted wires, total 8 wires with following combinations
Green & White Green
Blue & White Blue
Orange & White Orange
Brown & White Brown

(3) Untwist all the set of wires and arrange all wires in following combination:
White Green

White Orange
Blue
White Blue
Orange
White Brown

(4) Flatten it i.e. remove curliness from all wires with your fingers.

(5) Line-up closely all the wires as per combination (3) and cut them for even length.

(6) Insert carefully all the wires in RJ-45 connector and make assure that all the wires reached the connector end properly, hold gently and crimped it with the help of crimping tool.

(7) Apply above 1 to 6 steps to complete the other end of straight through cable.

First end of the Straight Through Cable:
(1) White Green
(2) Green
(3) White Orange

2_ MAKING CROSSOVER CABLE:

Here are the steps:

(1) As we know, a cable has two ends, crimp first end normally as straight through combination.

(2) Whereas, other end of the crossover cable combination is slight different, i.e. wire no. 1 and 3 replaces each other.

(3) In the same manner, wire no. 2 and 6 replaces each other.

(4) Rest process remains same.

First end of the Crossover Cable:
(1) White Green
(2) Green
(3) White Orange
(4) Blue
(5) White Blue
(6) Orange
(7) White Brown
(8) Brown

Other end of the Crossover Cable:
